How You Can Help

Girl Scouts is only successful with the help of willing parents to make the program a success for all girls!  Please email us if you can help in one of the below way! jacqueline.ozmun@girlscoutsrv.org.  

Event Chair: Take lead on a Service Unit Event for the girls.  Time    commitment: Generally 5-6 hours preparation time.  Events needing chairs:  She/Me Mystery Day for Juniors+, Thinking Day, Badge/Patch Day

Event Committee: Help event chair to organizer one of the following Events:  Cookie Rally, Badge/Patch Day, Thinking Day, She/Me Mystery Day for Juniors and up.  **Each evens needs at least 2-3 helpers.

Program Aide Coordinator: Work with girls that have been trained as Program Aides to run day camp and assist with troop/Service Unit events throughout the year.  Time commitment: Generally 1-2 hours per month.  Will require additional time during day camp month (July).   (1-2 Needed)

Family Partnership Coordinator: Assist in organizing a family fundraising campaign for the Service Unit. Time Commitment: 0-1 hours per month (Jan-Feb), 3-4 hours (March-May).     (1 needed)

Parade Chair: Take lead on organizing our summer parade. Time Commitment: 3-5 hours total.      (1 needed)

Recruiter: Order recruitment supplies and organize a registration event in the fall.  May work with event coordinators to organize a spring recruitment event also.  Time commitment: 3-4 hours/month (Aug-Sept), POSSIBLE 2-3 hours/month (Jan-Feb).   (1-2 Needed)

Organizer: Work with Registrar to fill/form troops at your specified grade level. Organizers will process paperwork (registrations) for their grade level. This position is crucial for making next year’s registrations process successful!  Time commitment:: 4-5 hours/month (Sept-Nov), 0-1 hours/month (Dec-May).  (6 needed)

 Registrar: Manage overall spreadsheet, deposit funds and work with council representatives.  Time commitment: 3-4 hours/month (Aug.-Nov.), 0-1 hour/month (Nov-May).   (2 needed)

Day camp Helper: Attend Day camp in June (during the daytime hours) and assist with campers. (Numerous Needed)

Trainer: Attend council training in order to provide training opportunities for our leaders locally.  Time commitment: initial day long training and then as needed by Service Unit.  (1-2 Needed)
